Product Introduction
Anti-Twisting Braided Steel Wire Rope, also known as Anti-Torsion Steel Wire Rope or Non-Rotating Braided Rope, is specially designed for overhead transmission line stringing and heavy-duty cable pulling operations.
It is manufactured from high-strength hot-dip galvanized steel wires braided into a symmetrical structure. Unlike conventional wire ropes, the rope does not generate rotational torque under load, ensuring stable pulling performance and preventing conductor twisting during installation.
This type of rope is widely used by power utilities, transmission contractors, telecommunication companies, and infrastructure construction firms for long-distance pulling applications.
Key Features
1.Superior Anti-Twisting Performance
The rope features multiple layers of galvanized steel wires braided in opposite directions, effectively neutralizing internal torsional forces. This ensures no rotation under load, prevents conductor twisting, eliminates torque-related cable damage, and guarantees smooth stringing operations.
2.High Strength, Low Elongation & Excellent Flexibility
Manufactured from high-tensile galvanized steel wires with an optimized strand arrangement, the rope provides excellent load-bearing capacity, a high safety factor, and reliable performance under heavy tension – ideal for long-span transmission projects. The compact braided structure minimizes stretching during operation, enabling better tension control and improved installation accuracy. Despite its strength, the rope remains highly flexible, passing smoothly through pulleys, blocks, and tensioning equipment, which reduces friction losses and improves construction efficiency.
3.Hot-Dip Galvanized Corrosion Protection & Wear Resistance
Each steel wire is hot-dip galvanized before braiding, offering excellent rust resistance for outdoor, humid, and coastal environments, thereby extending service life. Additionally, the rope is designed to withstand repeated bending and friction during transmission line construction, resulting in lower replacement costs and reduced maintenance requirements.
4.Lightweight & Easy Transportation
Compared to traditional wire ropes of equivalent strength, this braided anti-twisting rope is lighter and easier to transport and deploy on site, enhancing overall operational convenience.
Typical Applications
1.Overhead Transmission Line Stringing (Most Common Application)
Serves as a pilot rope or pulling rope for:
110kV – 750kV transmission lines
UHV (Ultra-High Voltage) transmission projects
This solution is well-suited for complex terrains and multi-conductor parallel stringing, ensuring smooth, efficient, and controlled deployment while minimizing tension-related risks and conductor damage during installation.
2.OPGW & Ground Wire Installation
OPGW (Optical Ground Wire): Effectively prevents cable twisting, protects fiber optic integrity, and guarantees precise installation – critical for maintaining long-term signal transmission performance.
Earth / Shield / Lightning Protection Wires: Provides reliable pulling force for grounding and shielding applications, enhancing overall line lightning protection and operational safety.
3.Underground Cable Pulling
Ideal for a broad range of underground installation scenarios, including:
Power cables
Communication cables
Fiber optic cables
Designed to enable smooth pulling through ducts, conduits, trenches, or direct burial settings – significantly reducing the risk of cable jacket damage, kinking, or performance degradation.
4.Telecommunication Construction
Widely applied in:
Fiber optic network deployment
Long-distance communication projects
Communication tower construction
Meets rigorous requirements for tension control and bend radius management, helping preserve signal quality, fiber integrity, and structural safety throughout the installation process.
5.Special Pulling Operations
Suitable for demanding engineering environments, including:
Bridge construction (e.g., suspension bridge cable systems)
Tunnel projects (cable or equipment pulling through confined spaces)
Industrial pulling systems
Heavy equipment installation
Delivers high pulling force with precise control, adapting to confined spaces, multiple bends, steep slopes, high loads, and other challenging on-site conditions.
